About Me

I am a Principal Investigator at the University of Oxford, based in Information Engineering and the Oxford Robotics Institute (ORI), where I lead the Parker Jones Neural Processing Lab (PNPL).

My primary research lies at the intersection of deep learning and neuroscience, with a particular focus on brain data, speech, and non-invasive brain-computer interfaces.

I’m also passionate about speech and language technology for Hawaiian and other Indigenous languages, having been born and raised speaking Hawaiian in Hilo. My work in this area emphasises low-resource settings and community-led approaches to data collection, modelling, and evaluation.
